This book is great systematic introduction to syntax. I would highly recommend it for anyone attempting to move into any area of work or study on linguistics as they will certainly need a fundamental undersatdning of syntactic functions. The book includes a myriad of problem data sets differing in difficulty and purpose which make for great tools to improve skills in linguistic analysis.
